The Aura - Your Energetic Layer of Protection
Sometimes it can feel like we are spread really thin. Keeping track of everything and everyone. This is reflected in how you feel and how your energy feels.
Sometimes we are moving so quickly that maybe starting with the question, 'how does my energy feel today?’ Finding out with curiosity (not judgment!) what is happening in your own system is a great place to start. Or maybe you are well aware of how you are feeling or the symptoms you are having and it’s something you’d like to shift.
There may be places you are ‘leaking’ energy, feeling depleted. There may be places you are feeling sturdy or strong. Just recognizing this can help bring awareness and space for the energy to move. Energetically, this ‘spread thin’ feeling shows up in the amazing biofield around us, also called the aura.
The energy of the aura provides a layer of protection for us along with helping us with beneficial connections. It is the energy field that surrounds your physical body, your boundary, your sacred container. It is very responsive to your emotions. The aura also sends signals into your environment. Like when you get a ‘good vibe’ or a ‘negative vibe’ from someone? You are sensing into the energy of the aura.
Quick List of Signs Your Aura Needs Attention:
Easily overwhelmed, especially in presence of others
Highly sensitive to everything and everyone
Feel invisible or ignored
Feel unstable or ungrounded
Feel especially frail or weak
Experienced illness or surgery
Working with your energy is so empowering…
You can help to strengthen the connections in your own aura. This helps with your stability and resiliency. The aura is like a filter and helps discern the overload of information coming in at a rapid rate!
We may feel the energy of others, and that can be extremely overwhelming. We can’t change other people but we can work with the energy of our own vibration.
Learning about and taking action with our own energy is putting ourselves on the priority list. We can be inspired by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor (author of My Stroke of Insight) who due to a stroke was acutely aware of the energy of people she encountered said, ‘Please be responsible for the energy you bring into the room.’
Knowing when we need extra support and reaching out is an important part of the journey. We are not meant to do this alone. We can compassionately care and be responsible for our own energy and tend to what is needed within, as it is the energy that is transmitted to everyone around us.
